This is a well-written book with interesting examples, but ...The book begins with raw WebGL, but one chapter later switches to Three.js. This didnt bother me, since in practice thats what Im going to be writing. But then one chapter later he switches (again) into Sim.js, his own library that provides an abstraction layer above Three.js. This is a huge problem, as the library 1. isnt advertised anywhere on the covers of the book- 2. is non-standard and obscure (googling Sim.js brings up a completely different library at the top of the results, and the one used in this book only exists on the authors github, as far as I can tell)- 3.

isnt up to real-world WebGL development, by the authors own admission. So what am I learning here? Its not a fundamental computer graphics textbook, in which case a pedagogical wrapper is acceptable to facilitate understanding, nor is it a book on raw WebGL, nor a book on any mainstream libraries I would use to write WebGL code in practice.I just dont see its point, which is a shame, since, as I said, its well-written and has interesting examples.
